September10th – September14Tth
September 10 – We will begin our holiday by clearing customs in Calais Maine to continue on highway 2 to overnight in Gorham New Hampshire at our lovely accommodation Town and Country Inn 603-466-3315 nested in the heart of White Mountains. Plus a perfect location for a delicious meal in their impressive dining room.
September 11 – Following our delicious Breakfast Buffet we will travel for two hours to Moultonborough N.H. “Castle in the Clouds” – a Mountain Top Mansion turned museum in the picturesque Lakes Region by New Hampshire. You will thoroughly enjoy the history of this incredible estate plus spectacular views of Lake Winnipesaukee.
Our travels will continue to Lincoln’s N.H. Clark’s Trading post – Home of Clark’s Trained Bears and the White Mountain Central Railroad, A 30 minute 2.5 mile steam powered train ride. Tonight’s accommodation at the impressive Indian Head Resort 800-343-8000. A perfect location to end a perfect day.
September 12 – Departing from another delicious breakfast we will travel approx. two hours to our signature European accommodation located in beautiful Stowe Vermont – The Von Trapp Family Lodge 802-253-5878. The lodge, a European style Inn owned by the Von Trapp Family that inspired the Famous Musical – The Sound of Music.
Upon arrival we will be greeted by a Von Trapp Family member for a most interesting introduction, and to learn the history of Von Trapp Famous Family- to add to our visit, we will have the opportunity to watch a documentary movie of “Maria” The Family Matriarch. A delicious formal meal will be greatly enjoyed in their elegant Austrian style dining room.
September 13 – Following a magnificent Buffet Breakfast. We will depart our renowned property and travel to New Hampshire’s Mount Washington Premier Hotel for a lovely Buffet lunch in their prestigious dining room. Time will be allowed for a self guided tour throughout this upscale 1902 Spanish Renaissance Hotel. Another highlight to your day will be climbing to Mount Washington Summit on the Famous Cog Railroad (Optional Please advise upon booking). Mount Washington is the highest mountain of 6,289 feet in the Northeastern United States. A definite trilling and memorable experience! Tonight’s accommodations will be at South Portland’s Best Western Merry Manor 207-774-6151.
September 14- We will begin our journey home with spectacular memories of a super September tour.
