“The Eastern Townships” are an incredible scenic and historical region in South Eastern Quebec – They lie between the St. Lawrence lowlands and the American border. We will be captured by the beauty of massive mountains, Lowland Valleys, and numerous pristine lakes. The Eastern Townships region is known for its country pleasures, picturesque villages and colorful landscapes which makes it a unique destination, one of the most beautiful regions in Canada.
June 19 – With great excitement we will begin our lovely summer holiday by traveling to the charming “Wood Carving Capital of Quebec” Saint – Jean Port Joli. Before overnighting at Motel Blanche d’Haberville 418-598-3311. We will enjoy a delicious French Cuisine meal at Port Joli Marina, located on the shores of St. Lawrence River. This is a perfect location to view the sunset.
June 20 – Following a delicious breakfast, we will enjoy our morning drive towards the picturesque Eastern Townships. We will first visit Sherbrooke for a beautiful noon hour lunch at a popular café – and witness their numerous impressive murals before continuing on to nearby City Magog located on the confluence of Lake Memphremagog. Our home for three nights will be at the very impressive Estrimont Suites & Spa 800-567-7329 located in Orford Townships among the beautiful and rugged Memphremagog region. Estrimont Suites & Spa offers you spacious suites as well as access to all services on site, outdoor hot tubs, dry Sauna, Nordic Shower, indoor and outdoor pool, yurt with fireplace and exercise room. Tonight we will enjoy our fine dining dinner at this impressive property.
June 21 – Today we will explore the “Eastern Townships”. We will welcome our informative guide and visit Abbaye St. Benoit -Du-Lac where we will admire the architecture of this jewel perfectly integrated in nature. We will learn about Monastic life and discover different products made by monks. This evening we are in for a real treat as we discover and cruise on one of the most beautiful lakes in Quebec, Lake Memphremagog and be seduced by the beauty of the Eastern Townships. We will enjoy a 3 course gourmet meal, live music on the modern “Grand Cru” – You’ll be fascinated by the boats luxurious interior. A perfect way to end a perfect day.
June 22 – Following a relaxing morning at our impressive Resort we will have the opportunity to visit nearby wineries, and enjoy the numerous shops, boutiques and cafes. We will visit Merry Maison – the oldest house in urban Magog, plus the quaint village of Hatley – home of numerous mansions and luxurious real estate. Following our wonderful and enjoyable afternoon, we will return to our beautiful Resort for a relaxing evening.
June 23 – We will depart the Eastern Townships and travel approx. two hours to Old Quebec City for an opportunity to stroll throughout the many quaint cobblestone streets and enjoy the numerous boutiques, cafes, and specialty stores. We will see amazing historic architect before departing approx. mid afternoon to travel to Riviere du Loup, Hotel Universal 800-265-0072 for our last night away from home.
June 24 – Returning home from a most enjoyable, relaxing, interesting and pretty holiday!
