August 9-With great excitement we will begin our wonderful summer holiday and travel to Nova Scotia’s very popular Masstown Market for our noon hour lunch. Travelling throughout Rolling hills and beautiful farmlands on highway 14 to picturesque Avonport where we will welcome Ruth Selby for an informative tour to learn about the importance of the tides, farming and history before our visit to the very impressive Pete Luckett Vineyards for wine tasting and a delightful supper in their vineyard! We will end our most enjoyable and interesting day at the “ Gateway to Annapolls Valley” Slumber Inn Located in New Minas 902-681-5000
August 10 -We will begin our travels today and travel throughout beautiful quaint villages noting numerous stately sea captain homes as we travel to Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens. Before enjoying our lunch at the very impressive Digby Pines- Continuing on to our nights stay at Yarmouth Rodd Hotel 902-742-2446
August 11-Following a delicious breakfast we will begin to explore Nova Scotia’s picturesque South Shore making interesting visits at Seaside villages as Shelbourn Historic Waterfront; we will welcome the ambassadors of Lockport Darrel & Bev Williams to inform us about Lockport and the importance of Cresent Beach. Crescent Beach was featured on the Canadian 1954 series fifty dollar bill. Plus an amazing opportunity for excellent photo of Lockport’s active fishing harbour. Visiting Liverpool’s Hank Snow Museum plus a delicious lunch at Lanes Privateer Inn, located on the Atlantic Oceans shores will be a definite highlight.
Our journey will continue on to another very impressive Seaside Village filled with incredible stately sea captain homes. – Historical Lunenburg– having leisure time to stroll amongst the impressive streets filled with numerous gift shops and boutiques before visiting. Mahone Bay another long standing picturesque tourism destination with spectacular views of there scenic Harbour will be another highlight to your day- a photo opportunity of the three famous churches is a must before we depart for our impressive nights accommodation at Oak Island Resort 1-800-565-5075 ideally located on the shores of Atlantic Ocean and next to the famous mysterious Oak Island Treasure Island. A visit to Oak Island Interpretive Center Museum will be arranged if possible- will be advised upon booking.
August 12 -Following our delicious breakfast we will depart our impressive accommodations and circle St. Margarets Bay to the renowned Peggy’s Cove another very popular destination- a wonderful opportunity for a photo of Nova Scotia’s most well known lighthouse! We will enjoy a delicious seafood noon hour meal ( non seafood choices available). We will return to Masstown Market for a ice cream treat before we make our way back home with great memories of a great summer holiday!
