Canadian Classic – Ottawa’s Tulip Festival Niagara Falls/Toronto May 14 – May 23
May 14 – We will begin our exciting and interesting Victoria Day Spring Holiday by travelling throughout our picturesque province to our first night’s accommodations, Hotel Classique (800-463-1885) Quebec City, ideally located across from the Laurier Shopping Mall for our shopping enthusiasts.
May 15 – Departing our hotel following a delicious breakfast we will journey westward towards the Laurentian Mountains to the most popular and extraordinary scenic Mont-Tremblant – having time to enjoy the most popular Pedestrian Village before we journey onward along the Ottawa River to our nation’s capital Ottawa. Our home for the next three night’s at ideally located Cartier Hotel (613-236-5000).
May 16 –We will begin our exciting day with an informative city tour with our step-on-guide, a tour throughout our Lieutenant Governor’s Home “Rideau Hall” will be most interesting.. Following our most interesting morning we will enjoy strolling throughout Tulip Festival Headquarters at Commissioner’s Park which houses numerous International Exhibits, tulip displays and musical entertainment. Strolling among thousands of beautifully displayed Tulip Gardens is a definite way to celebrate the 67th Ottawa Tulip Festival. Driving a short distance to visit Ottawa’s most unique historical site “Diefenbunker” a four – story, 300 room, 100,000 square foot underground bunker and was meant to house 535 Canadian government officials and military officers in the event of nuclear attack and during the crest of the Cold War(1959-1961). This evening you may wish to join Nancy for a leisurely stroll along the Rideau Canal.
May 17 – This morning scheduled tours throughout our Parliament Building (West Wing) and Canada’s renowned War Museum has been arranged for us. Time will be arranged for you to enjoy the very popular Byward Market and Rideau Centre . Another unique way to discover Ottawa at Tulip Festival time is to enjoy a delightful Cruise on the Rideau Canal which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoying amazing displays of Fireworks is a perfect way to end an Ottawa visit.
May 18 – Departing our beautiful country’s Capital our journey’s will take us to another Canadian Icon – Niagara Falls. Upon arrival we will have the exciting opportunity to view the magnificent, famous Niagara Falls. Our home for the next two night’s at the perfectly located Howard Johnson’s (905-357-4040).
May 19 – Our exciting day will begin by travelling to nearby charming Niagara-on-the-Lake a prestigious town filled with numerous boutiques and shops before visiting Niagara Fall’s Icons such as the famous Floral Clock which is photographed almost as often as the falls and Floral Showcase. For a closer experience you may wish to embark the Hornblower Niagara Cruises (formally Maid of the Mist). Remainder of the day will be yours to enjoy the famous fun-filled Clifton Hill and the world famous Niagara Falls. This evening we will enjoy the very impressive Skylon Revolving Dining Room for a delicious meal and spectacular view, will be a delightful way to end our visit in this exciting city!
May 20 – Departing Niagara Fall’s to travel to Canada’s largest city, Toronto , to visit the iconic attraction CN Tower, before travelling to our night’s accommodations to Gananoque’s Holiday Inn Express (613-382-8338). For those interested you may want to try your luck at the Thousand Island Casino.
May 21 – A beautiful way to begin our day is cruising amongst the renowned Thousand Islands on our double – decker boat departing from Rockport. Following our delightful & enjoyable cruise, we will continue on to Montreal for sight-seeing and visit the “Old Historic District” of Montreal. Tonight’s accommodations will be in Drummondville at Hotel Universel (819-478-4971)
May 22 – Following our breakfast, we will continue on to Quebec City for an informative tour by our step-onguide plus opportunity to stroll throughout the numerous shops & boutiques. Mid-afternoon we will depart for Riviere -du- Loup’s Quality Inn (418-867-8221). This evening a delicious Farewell Supper will be enjoyed at the popular and modern restaurant. St. Hubert’s..
