October 12th -October 17th
Join Nancy and travel to one of Quebec’s most beautiful regions “Eastern
Township” – Known for its country pleasures, it picturesque villages and colorful
landscapes which makes this a unique destination – this is the tour has been designed to
capture magnificent scenery and French Cuisine – and also for the Louise Penny fans!
October 12 – With great excitement we will begin our lovely Fall Foliage Tour and travel
to Levi’s Modern Normandi Hotel plus to enjoy a delicious meal before relaxing in our
impressive hotel 418-831-3119.
October 13 – Following our delicious breakfast we will begin to travel towards Eastern
Townships Region and to enjoy a sight seeing tour of Eastern Townships Capital
Sherbrooke. We will continue onto Magog a popular scenic city in Eastern Township, to
visit the region’s Oldest House built in 1820 “The Merry House” built by the key founder
of Magog. You will have the opportunity to stroll Magog’s bustling street lined with
boutiques, art galleries and inviting cafes before being welcomed to our very impressive
Hotel Verso 855-330-6001 for our three nights stay, located on the shores of Lake
Memphremagog.
October 14 – Following another delicious breakfast we will prepare ourselves for a
“Louise Penny” day and welcome our informative Three Pines Guide. We will begin by
travelling to North Hatley to the Manoir Bellechasse – a fictional name for the real life
Manor Hovey located on the shores of Lake Massawippi Known for its appearance in
Louise Penny’s novel “ A Rule Against Murder”. We will continue our morning and visit
and enjoy a guided tour of Stanstead Haskell Opera House where Louise Penny was
inspired to write “The Black Wolf” best seller.
Travelling to Georgeville, a real life Eastern Township village along with nearby
Knowlton heavily inspires Louise Penny fictional village of Three Pines in her popular
Chief Inspector Armand Garmache Series. While in this charming town a delightful
lunch will be enjoyed at Manor Hovey – a historical Inn preserving old-world charm that
was inspirational to Louise Penny. Following our delightful lunch we will visit St.
Thomas Church then onto Mr. Beliveau’s General Store. A well stocked country store
where residents find necessities and charm plus a beloved fictional landmark in Louise
Penny’s Chief Inspector Gamache Series.
Returning to our very impressive hotel from a most scenic and amazing Louise
Penny’s themed day to relax in the comforts of your home away from home. Throughout
our beautiful day you will be spellbound at the numerous stately homes and their intrigue
architect plus well manicured properties.
October 15 – Following another delicious breakfast we will be greeted by our most
knowledgeable guide and we will visit Abbey of saint- Benoit -du-Lac. The Abbey is the
home of thirty Monks and located in the heart of Eastern Townships. The Abbey was also
inspiration for Louise Penny to write her famous novel “Beautiful Mystery“. We will
enjoy a guided visit plus have time to enjoy their boutique, plus award winning wines and
cheeses.
Departing this most scenic picturesque region we will travel to West Brome to
enjoy another delightful lunch at Auberge West Brome. A perfect location which brings
the flavors of Louise Penny’s Three Novels to life, Gabri’s famous trifle, comforting
soups and other favorites from the Armand Gamache Series. We will visit Knowlton,
which is the heart of “Three Pines“. Visiting West Brome Museum and Famous
bookstore and café – before being tested in our knowledge of Louise Penny and you just
might win a prize.
Returning to our hotel following a day filled with amazing scenery, incredible
architecture properties and perhaps “mystery“.
October 16 – We will bid farewell to our beautiful hotel and travel towards Vieux
Quebec City for you to enjoy, the numerous shops, boutiques and cafes before journeying
onto your night’s accommodation at Riviere du Loup, Hotel Universel 888-527-9522.
A delicious group meal will be enjoyed upon arrival.
October 17 – Following a hearty breakfast our travels will take us home from an
amazing Fall Foliage holiday. Book early!!
