1 7 Days of Exploring the Wonders of Newfoundland & Labrador August 12 – August 28 Travel with us to beautiful Newfoundland & Labrador to experience first-hand the unique heritage, natural scenic wonders and extraordinary hospitality! This trip is designed to give you an opportunity of a lifetime to visit this incredible province from head-to-toe for 17days!

August 12 – Departing our homes with great excitement we will travel to North Sydney to catch the early evening ferry, crossing time is approximately 14 hours to Argentia. I have cabins reserved for all guests. Cabins expenses included in package.

August 13 – Upon arriving in Argentia mid-morning we will begin our Newfoundland Experience by travelling to Newfoundland Ancient Seaport Capital St. John’s. We will begin to get acquainted to this historical city by strolling along Water St. and popular St. George St. where there are numerous restaurants to enjoy your noon hour lunch. Following lunch we will visit the impressive geological interpretation centre “Johnson’s Geo Centre”, we will climb the mighty Signal Hill and visit Cabot’s Tower before checking in our home perfectly located in the heart of St. John’s the Sandman Signature St. John’s Hotel (709-701-0048). Our home for the next three nights. This evening we will become honorary Newfoundlander’s at our Screech – In Ceremony. Oh what a perfect way to begin a perfect holiday!

August 14 -We will begin our day enjoying an informative St. John’s city tour including Quidi Vidi Fishing Village! Another highlight to your day is to travel a short distance to Bay Bulls for our Whale watching & Puffin Excursion a visit to Canada’s most eastern point “Cape Spear” is a must see before returning to our hotel.

August 15 -This morning we will welcome our step-on-guide and enjoy touring throughout Conception Bay South. A perfect morning to witness lifestyles and pure beauty following lunch visiting Jelly Bean Row, Terry Fox Monument, Mile One Stadium, visiting Basilica Cathedral of St. John the Baptist are all St. John’s must see.

August 16 – We will say farewell to this exciting historic city and travel to the “Burin Peninsula”. The Burin Peninsula is surrounded by panoramic maritime barrens and huge glacial erratic boulders dropped by melting glaciers 10,000 years ago. Before arriving to our home for the next two night’s in Marystown we will make an interesting stop in Swift Current to visit Vernon’s Antique Car Museum. An amazing collection of some of the rarest antique cars in North America. Continuing on to our hotel Marystown Hotel & Convention Centre (709-2791600) a Newfoundland musical evening has been arranged for you.

August 17 – We will begin our day by travelling to nearby picture perfect “Burin Village”. Welcoming our charming step-on-guide to enlighten us on the history and hardships of this rugged outport which is built along a series of high cliffs and sheltered coves. We will continue on to visit the town of St. Lawrence for our Newfoundland specialty lunch and to visit St. Lawrence Museum to learn of the devastating history and the once mined fluorspar mineral . Following our most heart-warming visit we will continue to explore the Burin Peninsula often referred to as the Boot.

August 18 – Departing Burin Peninsula to explore another peninsula the Historical Bonavista Peninsula, John Cabot discovered in 1497. Following a delightful lunch at the 305 year old Dock Marina, a restored historic fishing premise located in the charming village of Trinity. We will continue along the Trinity Loop to Elliston the “root cellar” capital of the world, having photo opportunities of the Dungeon Park before our most interesting visit to Bonavista Lighthouse. An amazing day! Tonight our home will be at Clarenville’s Inn (709-466-7911).

August 19 – Another exciting day awaits you at the historical fishing village Twillingate for a delightful lunch at Auk Winery and to capture more breathtaking scenery. We will continue on to our night’s accommodations in Grand Falls Mount Peyton Hotel (709-489-2251). Tonight you will be a guest at Newfoundland MUGUP.

August 20 – Travelling across this great province witnessing vast acres of forest, numerous lakes and rivers – towards one of the world’s UNESCO heritage sites Gros Morne National Park – You will be amazed at spectacular scenery, coastal lowlands, alpine plateau, fjords, glacial valleys, sheer cliffs, waterfalls and many pristine lakes. We will make a numerous photo opportunities as we travel to our night’s accommodations in Torrent River Inn (709-248-5225) located in Hawkes Bay situated at the mouth of the Torrent River. – famous world-wide amongst first-class anglers.

August 21 – Following a delicious breakfast we will journey North to St. Anthony for our next two night’s Hotel North (709-454-3300). Upon arrival in this beautiful northern tour we will visit Dr. Wilfred Grenfell Mission – where we will witness some of the earliest permanent medical services in Labrador & Newfoundland. A most entertaining evening has been arranged for you as we partake in the Great Viking Feast Leifsburdir in a sod hut! Quite the experience! 14

August 22 – A relaxing morning has been arranged for you – perhaps go shopping at the nearby mall. This afternoon we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Vikings Settlements L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site. Enjoying incredible scenery and so much history!

August 23 – With an early departure we will travel to St. Barbe to cross the Strait of Belle Isle to Labrador. Upon arrival in Labrador we make the rugged journey to Red Bay to visit a national historic site dedicated to 16th century Basque Whalers. Enjoy a great meal and hospitality at Whaler’s Restaurant is always a treat. Tonight’s accommodations at Labrador’s Northern Light Inn (709-931-2332).

August 24 – Departing Rugged Labrador and returning to Newfoundland on the mid-afternoon we will travel to Port aux Choix. Upon arrival we will visit Port aux Choix Historic Site where we will find the crossroads of 6000 years of human history. Overnight accommodation at Sea Echo Hotel. A delicious Newfoundland Supper and musical entertainment will be arranged.

August 25 – Following breakfast and a leisurely morning we will visit Torrent River Salmon Interpretation Centre & Fishway before continuing on Cow’s Head a quaint village located on the shores of Gulf of St. Lawrence. A delightful supper will be enjoyed. Our home tonight at Shallow Bay Motel in Cow’s Head (709-2432471)

August 26 – We will visit picturesque Rocky Harbour “Gros Morne Wildlife Museum” before enjoying our perfect Bonne Bay Boat Cruise to Woody Point – another delightful Newfoundland town. We will visit the most impressive Discovery Centre before travelling to Cornerbrook Glynmill Inn (709-634-5181).

August 27- Our day will begin by visiting the legendary Newfie Bullet before travelling throughout the scenic Long Range Mountain Range and the legendary Wreck House on our way to Stephenville for lunch. Visiting Rose Blanche Lighthouse – is another highlight!. We will celebrate our Newfoundland Experience by enjoying a delicious farewell dinner Party at Port-Aux-Basque Hotel. After the party we will catch the 10:45 PM Ferry for our overnight crossing – I have cabins reserved for all guests price included in package.

August 28 – Upon arrival in North Sydney, Nova Scotia we will begin to return home with amazing, wonderful memories of a trip of a lifetime!
