May 25th – 27th
May 25 – Departing our homes with great excitement for our three day “Grape Escape”
we will travel to popular Masstown Market for noon hour lunch before continuing onto
the Gateway to Annapolis Valley! We will begin by visiting one of the oldest Vineyards
in the province – Avondale Sky. You will be greeted and become completely enthralled
by the Historic tale of the “Church that floated on water”! This is a perfect vineyard to
begin our Grape Escape – We will travel a short distance to meet our Dear Ruth Selby to
introduce us to Annapolis Valley Wine Country as we continue on to visit the very
impressive Luckett Vineyards for wine tasting and for a delightful meal overlooking
beautiful Gaspereau Valley. Before departing you may wish to make a phone call from
their red telephone booth located amongst their vineyard.
Our two nights accommodations will be at the very pleasant Slumber Inn 902-681-5000.
May 26 – Following breakfast we will begin our day by enjoying a pretty country drive
throughout fertile farmlands and picturesque views along the North Mountains arriving at
the Fox Hill Cheese House where they specialize in 20 different varieties and what is
cheese- without wine- The Planters Ridge will welcome us for more wine tasting – This
beautiful property is housed in a stunning 160 year old framed barn with magnificent
views of the dykes and acres of vineyards, lunch will be enjoyed at Wolfville Legion.
This afternoon we will visit award winning Benjamin Bridge Vineyards – A
family friendly farm winery plus Gaspereau Vineyards, a boutique winery best known for
outstanding Rieslings and robust red wines. – both located in lustrous wine country over
looking picturesque country side.
Before returning to our hotel we will enjoy a delicious home cooked meal
provided by Wolfville’s Lion Club.
May 27 – This morning we will have a most interesting tour throughout Coldbrook’s
Scotian Gold Facilities – This plant still packs 60% of the apple production in the
valley.(Closed toe footwear is advised)
Before departing Beautiful Annapolis Valley lunch will be enjoyed along
Wolfville’s busy main street filled with numerous restaurants and of course a visit to
Hennigars Market is always a must!
